Oppenheimer trailer shows Cillian Murphy starring as J. Robert Oppenheimer in World War II thriller

Christopher Nolan’s upcoming thriller, Oppenheimer, will tell the story about the physicist who has been called the “father of the atomic bomb.” A newly released trailer showcases Cillian Murphy as the star role and the story of the atomic bomb.

Oppenheimer’s story will focus on World War II and the top-secret nuclear projects undertaken by America during the war. This includes the atomic bomb, which was later used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in retaliation for Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor.

Oppenheimer will star Cillian Murphy alongside Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Josh Peck, David Dastmalchian, and many more.

The movie is based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning book titled American Prometheus: The Trimumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

The movie was filmed in “combination of IMAX 65mm and 65mm large-format film photography including, for the first time ever, sections in IMAX black and white analogue photography.”

Nolan seems to prefer going for practical effects more than CGI. The team behind Oppenheimer recreated the world’s first atomic explosion without using CGI. It’s actually insane, but at least it’ll be more realistic for the movie.

Christopher Nolan is well-known for his many famous movies, including Interstellar, Batman Begins, Dunkirk and Inception.

With the cast, trailer, and more, Oppenheimer looks like it will be an exhilarating film.
