First Wonka trailer gives look into whimsical world of Willy Wonka's origins

Warner Bros. has released a trailer for the upcoming Willy Wonka prequel movie titled Wonka. It will feature Timothée Chalamet as Willy Wonka. The trailer provides a pretty good idea of what we can expect to see from the movie, as well as the plot. It even includes a look into Hugh Grant’s portrayal of the Oompa-Loompas.

Wonka will tell the story of how Willy Wonka became the master chocolatier and how he had to best the dangerous waters of the chocolate cartel. The trailer originally premiered at CinemaCon. Chalamet will also be appearing in several musical numbers in the film.

Earlier this year, Timothée Chalamet spoke with Vogue about the film, saying: “To work on something that will have an uncynical young audience, that was just a big joy.”

The cast includes many big names, including Rowan Atkinson, Matt Lucas, Natasha Rothwell, and more.

The prequel film is being direct by Paul King.

The trailer definitely takes you back to your childhood with its whimsical nature and its stunning visuals. It looks like it will be a great movie for families this year and it’ll be an exciting one to see. Chalamet’s acting is stunning, so it’ll be interesting to see how he fulfills a role like this!

Timothée Chalamet is also appearing in Dune Part 2, which hits theaters in November.

Wonka will be in theaters on December 15.
