Avatar The Last Airbender movie is releasing in 2025

Paramount has now confirmed that its previously-announced Avatar: The Last Airbender animated film is releasing in 2025.

According to a report by  Variety, the Avatar: The Last Airbender film will release on October 10, 2025. It is the first of three planned Avatar movies from Paramount and Nickelodeon. Not much else is known about the film as of right now.

The project has been referred to as the “untitled Aang Avatar film,” and Lauren Montgomery is serving as director. From the name so far, it looks like the movie will focus on Avatar Aang, the original protagonist from the series. Still, it is unknown what period in Aang’s life the film will focus on and which characters will be making an appearance.

Series creators Bryan Konietzo and Michael DiMartino will be assisting Montgomery with the film as producers alongside Eric Coleman (executive producer and production manager for The Last Airbender series).

The three movies are being produced by Avatar Studios, which was launched last year with the goal of creating original series and movies about the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. The projects are all set to release on Paramount+, Nickelodeon, and some third-party platforms, as well as cinemas.

Nickelodeon is also working on an Avatar Airbender universe that is set to encompass several TV shows and movies across many platforms.
