Overwatch 2 adds One Punch Man skin

Overwatch has joined the trend of games making cross-over events with anime. Like Fortnite and its Dragonball Z crossover event, Overwatch 2 is collaborating with the popular anime titled One Punch Man.

The Overwatch official Twitter page announced that the game’s Season 3 will feature more than just its Asian Mythology theme. It will also introduce its first collaboration with another IP by introducing a One Punch Man skin for Doomfist. This is a significant move for Overwatch, which previously just featured crossovers with other Blizzard IPs.

The One Punch Man skin for Doomfist is a Legendary skin, and players can obtain it through themed challenges. This addition makes perfect sense given the numerous anime references already present in Overwatch 2, such as Moira’s Neon Genesis Evangelion spray, Sombra’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure ultimate move, and Baptiste’s Dragon Ball Z spray. Doomfist had previously received a One Punch Man spray as well.

Other additions in Overwatch 2 Season 3 include a new Antarctica map, which was previously seen only in cinematics. The map is now playable and Blizzard promises a rich and lore-filled tundra with its own explorable narrative.

In addition to the “One Punch Man” skin, players can expect a variety of other skins, including the Amaterasu Kiriko Mythic skin inspired by Japanese deities, with multiple customizations for players to choose from.

Blizzard has doubled the login rewards and has stated that it remains committed to punishing cheaters and hackers.

For those unfamiliar with “One Punch Man,” it is an anime series based on the Japanese manga of the same name, following the story of an ordinary man named Saitama who becomes so powerful he can defeat any opponent with just one punch. The series features super monsters and villains, but the protagonist’s immense power leaves him feeling unsatisfied. Saitama has to search for an enemy that is powerful enough to give him a challenge.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 started on February 7 and will end on March 7. You can also see the full tweet from the official Overwatch account below:
