FARFAX, VA- The jury has come to an official verdict on Johnny Depp’s lawsuit against his now divorced wife Amber Heard.

The seven jurors assigned to the case have all decided in Depp’s favor for both cases in which he was involved. This follows about 36 hours over the past three days of deliberation amongst the jurors, leading up to their presentation of the official verdicts today in court.

As a result of the decision Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages, and $5 million in punitive damages. Heard was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages as well. Depp had been suing for $50 million while Heard was suing for $100 million.

The jury ruled partly in Heard’s favor after Depp’s lawyer called her abuse allegations as a hoax.

Depp began the suit against Heard after she was accused of libel for writing a 2018 op-ed, calling herself a domestic abuse victim. The following months saw Depp lose most of his career. After Depp brought his case against Heard to court she would file a counterclaim against him, leading to the two verdicts.
