The Last of Us Part 1 remake

Naughty Dog, the developer behind one of the most popular PlayStation exclusives ever, has revealed more information about their latest remake for The Last of Us Part 1.

The remake was just recently announced, and will be much more than a simple graphical remaster for the new PlayStation 5 hardware. Naughty Dog is promising updated AI features, new “seamless” animations, haptic feedback via the DualSense controller, and more accessibility.

Naughty Dog posted a 10-minute video where they broke down all of the new features and changes to The Last of Us Part 1, as well as a gameplay trailer. You can watch that video here.

The Last of Us Part 1 is also going to get a permadeath difficulty setting, which is something that has been highly requested by fans before. Additionally, there will be a speedrun mode for those who want to finish ASAP. Unlockable cosmetics, filters, and a powerful photo mode are expected in the remake as well.

Visually, Naughty Dog has stated that The Last of Us Part 1 will have native 4K resolution at 30 FPS, or dynamic 4K resolution at 60 FPS. There’s something for everyone.

It seems like Naughty Dog is giving players genuine reason to come back and replay the title.

The Last of Us Part 1 will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and released on September 2. It will be a timed PS5 exclusive, with a Windows PC version coming later as well. The Last of Us Part 1 will also include the prequel, The Last of Us: Left Behind and will charge $70.
