Ghostrunner 2 official release date revealed

505 Games has now officially confirmed that the upcoming sequel to its hit game Ghostrunner, titled Ghostrunner 2, will release on October 26. The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The official release date was actually first revealed in a leak about Ghostrunner 2, to which 505 Games said on Twitter: “Despite our best ninja skills, we couldn’t stop the news leaking on Ghostrunner 2.”

The official release date had also leaked with the prices for the multiple editions of Ghostrunner 2. The Standard Version of the game is $40, the Deluxe Edition is $50, and the Brutal Edition is $70.

Anyone who preorders the game will get the Red Eye Dragon and Golden Traditional sword and hand skins, but if you don’t get them at preorder, you can get them for a separate price on a later date. That date has not been confirmed just yet.

If you do preorder the Deluxe or Brutal edition of Ghostrunner 2, you will get early access to the game by 48 hours.

May 2023’s PlayStation Showcase saw the first official announcement for Ghostrunner 2 and the release date was probably going to be revealed during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live from what it seems.

Ghostrunner was released back in 2020 and has been hailed for its visuals and intense gameplay. It is also quite a difficult game, but it is very fun and has the perfect setup for those who enjoy speedrunning games. The gameplay mainly centers around hack-and-slash mechanics with fast-paced movement. Lots of wall-running is involved in Ghostrunner.

The game is also quite visually pleasing with its cyberpunk-style aesthetics, so it only makes sense that with the next-gen consoles, that Ghostrunner 2 will look even more brilliant.
