Hugh Jackman confirms that Wolverine being in Deadpool 3 will not change the timeline or ending of Logan

Hugh Jackman has confirmed that Wolverine joining Deadpool 3 doesn’t change the ending of Logan.

Wolverine as a character met his end in Logan and that was supposed to be the last time Jackman played the character. However, Hugh Jackman revealed that he had been discussing reprising his role as Wolverine for some time.

In an episode of The Empire Film Podcast, Jackman said that he discussed the idea with Logan director James Mangold.

“He was actually really cool about it,” Jackman said, “I did tell him that it took place before our movie. So, it wasn’t going to screw up — with the claws coming out of the grave. So, he was relieved by that. And he thought it was a really — he totally got it. He though it would be a really good idea.”

In September, Ryan Reynolds announced that Hugh Jackman would return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, much to the excitement of fans of the franchises.

There was no exact explanation as to what Wolverine’s role would be in Deadpool 3. It seems like there may be some time travel involved. Hugh Jackman explained that: “All because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines, now we can go back because you know it’s science. And so I don’t have to screw with the Logan timeline, which was important to me and I think probably to the fans too.”

Recently, Deadpool and Logan were added to Disney+. Deadpool 3 will also be the first Deadpool film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool 3 is set to release on November 8, 2024.
