The rapper behind Gangsta’s Paradise, Coolio is dead at 59.

The exact cause of death was not made immediately available.

The story was first reported on by TMZ.

It was reported that law enforcement are currently investigating the exact cause of death and that no drugs were found at the scene of Coolio’s death. However, a toxicology test will be conducted to determine what happened.

Currently, there does not seem to be any sign of foul play.

Coolio had supposedly been visiting his friend and manager, Jarez when he was found unresponsive in the bathroom. Jarez proceeded to call EMTs, who pronounced Coolio dead on the scene after attempting to resuscitate him for nearly 45 minutes. Paramedics suspected that he passed due to cardiac arrest.

Coolio’s real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., and he grew in the LA rap scene back in the 80s, becoming a major success after he released ”Gangsta’s Paradise” back in 1995. The song topped the charts at #1 for three weeks.
