Xbox Game Pass trial deal back

Microsoft has finally brought back its $1 Xbox Game Pass trial deal. The deal allows for players to get their first month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass for just $1. Unfortunately for those looking to get the deal on the Game Pass console edition, it’s not available. You’ll have to subscribe to Ultimate to get this deal.

Prior to March 2023, Microsoft ran this deal for many years. However, in March, Microsoft stated that it was “evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future.” Looks like the different marketing promotion was just doing the exact same thing.

In any case, if you currently have Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass, you can use the trial as an upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Your pre-paid membership carries over at the current conversion rate for a maximum of 36 months.

However, Xbox Game Pass has gone up in price in almost every market except for Norway, Chile, Denmark, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia. If you’re in one of these excluded countries, consider yourself a very lucky person.

The monthly price has gone up from $14.99/month to $16.99/month for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. To be fair though, Xbox Game Pass is one of those services that I think really does have a good price tag to it. You get access to over 100 games every month, with new games and Day 1 release games constantly. It’s really a great service if you don’t want to fork over $30-$100 for a new game all the time.
