The shut-down of Stadia has been a major headliner this week for the gaming industry, but many were wondering what studios would do about save data from games that were ported to the Stadia platform. Ubisoft, Bungie, and IO Interactive have confirmed their intentions to transfer play accounts from Google Stadia titles.

Ubisoft confirmed on Friday that it is “working to bring the games you own on Stadia to PC” through the Ubisoft Connect platform. “We’ll have more to share regarding specific details as well as the impact for Ubisoft+ subscribers at a later date.”

Bungie posted on its support forums that it has “begun conversations” about what the next steps for Destiny 2 players on Stadia will be. “We will announce and send out information regarding Destiny 2 Stadia accounts once we have a plan of action.”

IO Interactive, the developer behind the popular Hitman series, said that it was also looking into the situation. “To all our HITMAN fans on Google Stadia. We hear you — we are looking into ways for you to continue your HITMAN experience on other platforms.”

Stadia will be going offline officially in January 2023. In a statement on Thursday, Google admitted that Stadia just did not receive enough user traction than expected. Users will have hardware purchases made through the Google Store refunded. All game and add-on content purchases made through the Stadia store will be refunded as well.
