Ubisoft broke The Division 2 while trying to update it

It looks like Ubisoft may have accidentally just bricked its own game. The Division 2 was supposed to get an update recently, but Ubisoft confirmed that a development “error” has broken the build generation system. Now, The Division 2 can’t even get any updates until the build functionality is repaired.

In a tweet, Ubisoft revealed that it must essentially recreate the system. “We cannot update the game until this system is rebuilt. We are unable to make server or client side updates until the build generation system is restored.”

Ubisoft explained that it has made “good progress” in fixing the issues and that a solution to the problem is coming. Earlier today, Ubisoft was working through an “unscheduled maintenance” to fix some of the issues. One problem includes not being able to purchase seasonal in-game items.

The base game and expansions are still playable, but new content will not be coming until things are fixed. The upcoming Reign of Fire season was meant to be released on February 7, but it looks like it will be delayed even further until the situation is resolved.
