Following Soul and Luca, Turning Red will also be available on the Disney streaming platform.

Disney+ is one of the most popular streaming platforms today. After Disney acquired Star Wars and Marvel, the streaming service has become more and more tempting for people to sign up for. Disney+ has also become a place where Disney releasees its newest Pixar movies. So, it’s not just the cinema that is seeing Disney’s films. You can watch Pixar movies on release day from the comfort of your couch.

Pixar was hit hard by the pandemic, just as many other entertainment industries were. It made releasing films in theater less attractive, as less money was being brought in. Disney+ has over 100 million subscribers, which makes it easier to reach a wide audience of viewers willing to watch Disney’s latest releases.

Turning Red is a film about 13-year-old Mei Lee, who is dealing with all the most difficult parts about being a teenager and growing up. Any time her emotions spike too much, she turns into a giant red panda. The film takes place in Toronto, Canada, which is an exciting thing for Canadians around the world. Not many stories seem to take place in Canada, but it should be interesting to see how Turning Red takes on the vibrant and vast world of Toronto.

Turning Red poster

The film releases on Disney+ March 11. Given the previous two Pixar films releasing for free on day 1, it’s probably safe to assume that Turning Red will also do the same. Needless to say, we’re excited to take a look at this film and give our thoughts on it.
