PlayStation fans are going to be excited to hear that popular MMO Phantasy Star Online 2 is no longer going to be an XBOX exclusive.

The game, which released in 2012 but came to consoles in 2020, has seen popularity since its release. It’s been an XBOX exclusive since it came to modern consoles however, and so it’s an interesting move to see a third-party developer change to a different console.

But PlayStation users have been waiting for almost a decade now, making this an almost historic decision on Sega’s part.

The game’s coming to PS4 and PS5’s this Summer, August 31st to be exact. The game coming to the consoles is New Genesis, while the classic PSO2 will be playable on both consoles. The online game, although almost a decade old now, has received plenty of popularity in recent years, explaining Sega’s focus on consoles in recent years.

This is nothing new for Playstation users in Japan however, where the game has been available for years now. However, It’s coming to the West now however, and fans are justifiably excited.
