Buying an ice machine was probably the best purchasing decision for my home!

Ice.

We all love it. It works with anything. You can use ice to chill your drink, cool your meats and fish, heal wounds, and make smoothies. It’s a multiversal tool. Some people have ice makers built into their fridges. Some buy their ice. Some manually freeze water. But what if I told you there was a much easier way to make ice? Something that anyone can do with complete ease. Something so easy you don’t even need to do any work in the first place?

It’s called an ice machine, and it’s taking homes by storm.

You might be thinking to yourself “an ice machine sounds so gimmicky. Why shouldn’t I just use an ice tray?” Well if this sounds like you, then here are 5 great reasons you should buy an ice machine, from someone who’s owned one for over a year.

It takes out all the effort in making or buying ice

This is a huge benefit. No more long waits for the water to freeze. No more having to manually fill and freeze every ice cube. No more facing the difficult challenge of trying to remove the ice from the mold. Every single one of these problems gets eliminated when you use an ice machine. All you need to do is fill the machine with water, and turn it on. It’s that easy!

The speed at which the machine produces ice is insane. In just a few minutes each load of ice is done. Compare this to a tray. You have to fill it, put it one tray at a time in the freezer, wait for it to freeze (which can take a pretty long time) and then once it’s done the whole process repeats. With an ice machine, you get ice at a much higher, quicker, and easier rate.

You don’t need to keep going to the store and hauling around a heavy bag of ice either. You just buy the machine once, set it, and forget it. Once you’ve turned it on you can ensure a constant stream of ice, unlike heavy grocery bags of ice that you have to keep going out to buy. Tell me that isn’t convenience!

Saves $$ overtime

Another great benefit that I know we all like is a financial one. You make one upfront payment once, and that’s it. Then you set it up somewhere in your house, turn it on, and use it. You can now ensure a consistent and fast stream of ice. Unlike grocery ice bags, which you have to continuously buy, and ice trays which are 1) cheap and break and 2) are very inefficient, ice machines are a one time purchase that can output hundreds of dollars worth of ice, at anytime throughout the day.

Can be used anywhere

Ice machines can be set up and used anywhere too. It’s not like you have to put them in a specific place in your house, or that they have to go in the kitchen only. You could put your ice machine in your kitchen, as I’ve done, or you could set it up in your home bar. If you have one, an ice machine could go in an entertainment center or small theater in your home. Imagine how much easier things will be!

Because it’s just one cohesive unit, an ice machine can be placed anywhere and always give the same benefits. It’s also perfect for something like a home bar or entertainment room as it outputs ice pellets at a quick pace. Plus, ice machines aren’t even noticeably large or heavy, and some ice machines look very nice. This means not only do they not intrude, but these machines may even add a level of professional display to the place.

Pellet ice is way cooler than regular ice cubes

Speaking of display, talk about display! Ice machines make ice pellets (or nuggets as some call them), which look way cooler than the standard ice cube. Ice pellets are soft, round, and can be used in much higher supply than the standard ice cube. This means they’re easier to chew, and faster to cool your drink with. Want to make a smoothie using ice? Ice pellets blend faster and much easier. Want to use them in a drink? Ice pellets are smaller and much more presentable than the standard ice cube.

All-in-all, there’s no real competition here. It’s clear ice pellets are better than cubes.

Ice pellets tend to be smaller too, so you can use more of them in a drink, cooling it faster!

Easy to clean

Finally, the last big benefit of an ice machine is its ease of cleaning. If you’re truly worried about this, you don’t have to be! Each ice machine has a small drain in the bottom. I drain mine over the sink and wash out the inside of it. The whole process takes barely a few minutes. Then it’s clean as new and back to use!

Unlike ice trays, made of unsafe plastics that just get dirtier overtime, and store-bought ice, which may be (and most likely is) heavily unclean, ice machines use water straight from your own home. Just fill it and turn it on. I can’t tell you how much easier buying an ice machine has made everything related to ice.

Conclusion

When comparing an ice machine to the general methods of getting ice, it’s incredibly clear which one comes out on top. Ice machines are easier to use, set up, and clean. It’s cheaper in the long run, and can be used in many ways in many places! They also have the ability to internally hold ice and keep it cool for long periods of time too, incase you forget it’s running, due to how silent they are!

No more needing to purchase ice from the store all the time. No more struggling with an ice tray, only to finish up the ice its produced in very short time. All of these issues and concerns are completely eliminated with an ice machine. I can’t recommend a machine more than this one. It may seem gimmicky at first, but in short time you’ll be thanking yourself for buying one!
