Is Paramount+ worth the money?

In the age of the internet and the era of big streaming services, Paramount+ may seem like just another service to subscribe to. Of all the streaming services out there like Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu, should you consider subscribing to Paramount+? The service offers movies, TV shows, and even access to CBS, but is it any good? Why should you pick Paramount+ when Netflix exists? Let’s dive into if Paramount+ is worth your money:

What is Paramount+?

Paramount+ is a streaming service by Paramount Global. Most of the content available on the service is from CBS, Paramount Media Networks, and Paramount Pictures. There is also some Paramount+ original content as well, but these are relatively newer.

It actually used to be called CBS All Access when it launched back in 2014. It was supposed to give viewers the ability to stream live CBS broadcasting as well as watch CBS shows. That changed in 2019 when CBS merged back into Viacom to form ViacomCBS, which was later named Paramount Global.

As of October 2022, Paramount+ has approximately 46 million subscribers. This is still pretty small compared to competitor Netflix, who has 231 million subscribers.

What Can You Watch on Paramount+?

Paramount+ offers pretty much most of the original shows made by CBS like FBI, NCIS, and Mayor of Kingstown. There’s also original content made for Paramount+ like 1883 and Halo.

In terms of movies, you probably predicted this by now, but Paramount’s movies are available on the service. You can watch things like the original Friday the 13th movies, Top Gun: Maverick, Scream, and more.

Paramount also has the rights to Nickelodeon, which means you can watch things like SpongeBob, Jimmy Neutron, and iCarly.

You can also get access to live CBS programming, so you can watch things like the news in the app.

For the most part, however, a lot of the things available on Paramount+ are relatively older. The frequency of content updates on Paramount+ is a lot less than other services like Netflix and Disney+.

Is Paramount+ Available on All Devices?

Paramount+ is available to use on Apple, Android, and browsers. It can also be used on a FireTV as an app. You can download the app to your computer or you can just watch it within something like Chrome.

Is Paramount+ Worth the Subscription?

In my eyes, sure. It’s not my personal favorite subscription streaming service. I prefer Disney+ and Netflix, but Paramount+ does have a good range of content. I’ve been using it pretty frequently lately, and honestly, there are a lot of good movie options on it.

If Paramount’s movies and shows appeal to you a lot, then you should definitely get Paramount+.

From all the streaming services, it’s also one of the least expensive. It only costs about $7.99 a month and you get access to all of the content on there.

If you want to try out Paramount+ but don’t know if you want to spend money on it just yet, consider this your lucky day! Use code MAYOR at checkout and get an entire month for free right now. Just click this link here to subscribe today!
