Tom Cruise’s hit film Top Gun: Maverick has skyrocketed to over $800 million at the global box office, making it the actor’s highest grossing film since the beginning of his acting career.

It’s also 2022’s second highest-grossing film.

His original record movie, Misson: Impossible – Fallout, had made just under $800 million following its release back in 2018, now being pushed to second place by Top Gun: Maverick. The film will be entering its fourth week in theaters now, meaning it might potentially soar to over $1 billion across 2022.

About half of its current earnings come from North America alone. The film was debuted in theaters during Memorial Day Weekend, earning an impressive $160.5 million in America. Over its second and third weekend it earned a total of over $141 million, currently facing off against the Box Office’s first place film Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness.
