The highly anticipated Harry Potter video game, Hogwarts Legacy, has been delayed into 2023. However, the release date was given for February 10, 2023. The game is set to release on Windows PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

This is not the first delay Hogwarts Legacy has been hit by. Previously, the open-world action RPG set in the 1800s was delayed from 2021 to 2022. It was supposed to release for the 2022 holiday season, but has now been delayed into the first quarter of 2023.

“The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience,” an announcement posted to Hogwarts Legacy’s Twitter stated.

Warner Bros. Games Avalanche also released a statement: “You may be disappointed that the game’s been pushed out of 2022, but we’re excited to finally give you a release date you can look forward to.”

The Nintendo Switch version of the game will not be releasing at the same time as the other platforms, but no specific release date was given for the Switch. It is possible that it could be after the other platforms, given that most studios publish Switch versions sometimes months after.

Hogwarts Legacy allows players the ability to customize their characters, who are fifth-year students at Hogwarts, where they will learn advanced magic and fight against rivals and dark wizards in the Hogwarts School or Witchcraft and Wizardry.
