Halo Infinite season 2 campaign co-op to be delayed

Season 2 of Halo Infinite is set to release on May 3, 2022. However, 343 Industries announced that the online campaign co-op will not be releasing with season 2’s launch. However, 343 has said that it will come “later” during season 2. There has been no word given on the release date.

In a blog post on Halo Waypoint, 343’s Joseph Staten explained what the developers were working on for season 2, including any fixes and additions to the game.

But the reality is that it’s going to take more time to land a high-quality, full-featured 4-player network co-op experience in the massive, wide-open world of Halo Infinite. We’re also committed to a great 2-player split-screen co-op experience on all Xbox consoles, from the original Xbox One through Xbox Series X—and the non-linear, wide-open sections of the Campaign present some big challenges for split-screen that have taken us more time to solve.

Staten, 343

Staten addressed the fact that the developers had been “slower” over the past few months due to “Priority Zero,” which he explained was prioritizing the health of the team.

Staten also addressed the highly anticipated and long-awaited Forge mode in Halo Infinite. In the post, Staten explained that 343 was “making great progress” and was already “flighting Forge to a small group of community creators.” 343 is planning on currently releasing Forge during season 3, with public flights to come later.

Halo Infinite season 2 is set to be called “Lone Wolves” and will feature new items in the Battle Pass, “cinematics, story-themed Events” and more.

Season 1 will be getting a new event as well called “Tactical Ops” which will have “variants on the Tactical Slayer mode along with new, Mark VII core-focused rewards to earn.”
