The first teaser trailer has been released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, revealing some of the characters we’ll be seeing in the new 2022 title. The trailer also revealed the June 8 worldwide reveal. Modern Warfare 2 is set to launch on October 28, 2022.

The trailer features beloved Task Force 141 characters, including Ghost and Captain Price and states “The ultimate weapon is team.” The trailer has stirred up plenty of hype surrounding the new title, with many excited to see the reboot of one of the most beloved Call of Duty titles. Modern Warfare 2 originally released in 2009 and was highly received as one of the best titles in the franchise.

Activision confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 will include Soap MacTavish, Gaz, and a new Mexican Special Forces Colonel named Alejandro Vargas.

Earlier leaks revealed that Modern Warfare 2’s campaign will center around fighting drug cartels in Columbia. Sources also stated that the single-player story would be more realistic and gritty.

There have also been some leaks that Call of Duty may be returning to Steam after artwork from Modern Warfare 2 appeared on the platform. Call of Duty stopped releasing on Steam a few years ago, with the switch made exclusively to the Battle.net platform.
