Damon Lindelof is confirmed to be working on a Star Wars movie

Co-creator of Lost, Damon Lindelof, is reportedly co-writing and producing a new Star Wars movie alongside Ms. Marvel’s Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, who will be the director.

Deadline recently reported on the news, saying that the rumored Star Wars movie from Lindelof is moving forward. Additionally, Lindelof is said to be teamed up with an unannounced writing partner to pen the film’s script.

No official word has been given just yet on what the new Star Wars movie will be about or when it will be releasing, but Deadline indicates the project has garnered the “most momentum” out of all the films currently in development at Lucasfilm. This would include Taika Waititi’s film and Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron, which was recently pulled from Disney’s release calendar.

Back in March, rumors surfaced regarding Lindelof’s Star Wars movie after he said he would like to work in that universe. At the time, he said jokingly: “Maybe a decade from now when I would no longer be blamed for ruining it. That would be a hoot.”

Lindelof has worked on Watchmen and The Leftovers, which have been critically acclaimed shows but he is also known for his divisive finale for Lost and controversial Star Trek Into Darkness.
