Controversial filmmaker Woody Allen has released specifics in regards to his latest film while promoting his 2020 movie ‘Rifkin’s Festival.’

The new movie will be shot in Paris, according to Allen, and there is a high chance it’ll be his final one too. The director told a French media company that in order to do the movie, which will be in French and star French actors, he’ll be physically moving to France.

He stated the movie will be a “sort of poisonous romantic thriller,” and that the main cast has already been secured. He also hinted at a budget of around $10 million, but that the finances will be coming from the U.S.

Allen, now 86, has built up a reputation of controversy after allegations of sexual abuse have come out against him, something many feared would force him to quit his career as a filmmaker.

“I am an author and no one can prevent me from writing, and therefore from working. It is the guarantee of my freedom and of my independence,” he stated however.

“This will be my 50th feature. It might be the last one,” he told the interviewer. “I kept a wonderful souvenir of the filming of ‘Midnight in Paris’ in 2010. I love this city very much and I’ve visited often, discovering magical places every time.”

‘Rifkin’s Festival’ was his most recent production, making only a minor $2.3M USD.
