Ubisoft announced a new mobile game during Ubisoft Forward 2022. The Division Resurgence is set to be a free-to-play, third-person shooter RPG mobile game based off of Tom Clancy’s The Division. The Division Resurgence is set to have a new storyline, different classes, and different challenging enemy factions.
The game will release on iOS and Android and players can sign up to participate in upcoming playtests at thedivisionresurgence.com.
The official description from Ubisoft states that:
“Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence is a canon opus that brings the acclaimed Tom Clancy’s The Division experience to handheld devices. Players will see a new and independent storyline set in a vast open world where they will be free to roam around an outstandingly detailed urban environment with stunning graphics. The game is playable solo or co-op with a variety of PvE activities, from story missions to world activities. This new chapter builds on all the original game modes, while bringing new gear and weapons to try out.”
The story will follow characters in a post-crisis New York City and will offer a different perspective on the events that took place The Division and The Division 2. New York City is going through a chaotic crisis and first-wage agents representing the Strategic Homeland Division must protect civilians against hostile factions.
The main character can be customized and gear will be collectable and upgradeable. As players continue to level up, they can unlock new specializations with unique signature weapons and gadgets that can be swapped at any time. This is supposed to allow players to try new abilities and find their best strategy.
The Division Resurgence will get a mobile interface that is set to be simple to navigate for new and old players of The Division franchise.
