Stray is a game about cats in a post-apocalyptic world

The new cat adventure game, Stray, has been seeing a successful and popular launch thus far. Players on both PlayStation and PC are enjoying the new title. Although PC players need to buy the game through Steam, PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can play the game entirely for free.

After its launch on July 19, the game has peaked at a concurrent player count of 62,963. Although it does not stand up to games like the insanely popular Elden Ring, it still managed to beat Neon White (3,277 peak) and Outer Wilds (7,936 peak).

It seems that the game’s appeal of being able to play as a cat in a post-apocalyptic world is catching on fast and strong. Many players have enjoyed the 3D platformer’s focus on stealth and its lack of combat.

For others, the game is just too cute, with a cat being at the center a big win for the game. The emotional appeal of Stray and placing animals in dire situations has many captivated by it as a title. Many cat owners have noted their dedication to keeping the animals in the game safe.

The premise of Stray is to get home or die trying. The post-apocalyptic world is inhabited by robots and humanity is extinct. The animals work together and try to survive in such a treacherous environment.
