Steam just reached a new major milestone: For the first time in its history, more than 10 million users were playing in-game at the same time.
On Saturday, January 7, Steam hit a peak of 10,082,568, as noted by SteamDB on Twitter. On Sunday, January 8, Steam surpassed that as well and hit a peak of 10,284,568. This includes all users who were actively playing a game at that time.
In that same period, Steam also reached a new all-time peak of overall concurrent users, reaching 33,078,963. This includes users who were signed into Steam but weren’t necessarily active.
Steam first passed 30 million concurrent users back in October 2022 over a weekend in the middle of the month. Since that point, it has gone on to pass the same milestone every consecutive weekend.
Since 2023 started, Steam has also hit 30 million concurrent users every day at some point in the day.
Still, Steam having over 10 million in-game users is a big milestone that has never been seen by the PC gaming platform.
