As if the supply chain woes and shortages of consoles couldn’t get any more inconvenient, Microsoft has confirmed that there is now a shortage of Xbox wireless controllers.

In a statement made to VGC, Microsoft said, “We know it might be hard finding Xbox Wireless Controllers right now due to supply disruptions. We’re working as fast as possible with our manufacturing and retail partners to improve this. Please check with your local retailers for availability.”

Several major retailers have sold out of their stock completely, and the shortage of Xbox wireless controllers seems to be hitting European countries hard as of right now. As VGC noted, in the UK, there are no controllers of any color in stock at a single major retailer, including the Microsoft Store itself.

Xbox users in other countries like France and the Netherlands have noted on Resetera that controllers are scarce to find. In the US, only pre-owned controllers are being found on Amazon US and GameStop.

The shortages seem to not be going away any time soon, and have been a genuine problem since the launch of the next-gen consoles. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X have been consistently sold out since their release all those years ago, and many still haven’t got a hand on a new one yet.

The supply chain issues that began during the pandemic are persisting strong, and it doesn’t look like they’re letting up any time soon.
