Jetpack Joyride has a lot of memories for many of us that grew up just as touchscreen technology was becoming popular. Now, the famous mobile game is getting a sequel that will be available exclusively through Apple Arcade.
Apple Arcade is a subscription service by Apple that allows iOS users access to exclusive games. It costs $4.99 monthly. There are many great games available on the platform, with Sneaky Sasquatch coming to mind first.
Jetpack Joyride 2 will be available on the service starting August 19 and will carry over many elements from its predecessor. It still keeps the gameplay model of a side-scrolling shooter with the main objective being to survive and get lots of coins.
However, there are some changes coming to the sequel. Namely, Jetpack Joyride 2 will be a “story-driven experience” with new mechanics.
Apple has a trailer and screenshots that you can view on the Jetpack Joyride 2 App Store page.
Jetpack Joyride 2 was originally launched on iOS and Android in March 2021 in select regions as a soft-launch. However, it was pulled from the Google Play Store and the App Store on February 28, saying it had “entered a new closed phase of development for an indefinite period.”
Other games will be joining Apple Arcade, including Amazing Bomberman and the Apple Arcade versions of My Talking Tom and Love You to Bits.
