Thriller movies are many and abundant, and the cartels provide some of the craziest thriller action out there. If you enjoyed Netflix’s TV series, Narcos, then you’re probably wondering if there are any movies or TV shows out there that are like Narcos.

Of course there are! Which is why we’ve compiled a list of ten movies and TV shows to watch that are like Netflix’s hit Narcos series.

1. Scarface

Scarface is a great movie to watch after Narcos

Sicario (Emily Blunt) is a perfect movie to watch that deals with the cartel

Starring Emily Blunt, Sicario tells the story of an FBI agent named Kate Mercer who is recruited for a covert operation on the US-Mexico border.

There’s plenty of cartel-hunting thrilling action in this one!

3. Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is a popular show that's great like Narcos

Breaking Bad is one of the most famous TV shows of all time and has spurred on entire trends all over the internet since its release (notably, the Waltuh meme).

Breaking Bad tells the story of high school chemistry teacher Walter White who is diagnosed with cancer and decides to start cooking meth for cash.

4. Better Call Saul

A spinoff of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul is a story about a lawyer named Jimmy McGill before the events of Breaking Bad. Like Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul deals with the underground world of drugs and corruption.

5. SWAT

SWAT is a show about the LAPD and has plenty of cartels and narcos in it

Although not a crazy production, SWAT is a show about a team of SWAT officers who work in the LAPD and have to fight against cartels, terrorists, murderers, and so much more.

Each episode presents a crazy new scenario for the officers to deal with, and there’s no shortage of emotions, excitement, and tactical action. It’s not the most realistic show, but there’s action, so…who cares?

6. El Chapo

El Chapo tells the story of one of the biggest cartel leaders ever

El Chapo is considered one of the biggest drug kingpins in history, and the Netflix crime drama tells the story of Joaquin Guzman (El Chapo) from childhood to rise to power in the Guadalajara Cartel, as well as his fall from power.

7. American Made

American Made has some undercover clandestine cartel action

American made is a comedy action film starring Tom Cruise who plays Barry Seal, an American pilot turned drug-runner for the CIA in the 1980s–an operation that would lead to the birth of the Medellin cartel.

8. The Godfather

The Godfather isn't about the cartel but it's great for fans of Narcos too

Although not technically cartel, the mafia is close enough? Similar vibes anyways.

The Godfather is one of the most critically acclaimed classic movies of all time and tells the story of the Corleone family and the world of mafias, crime, and more.

9. Miss Bala

Miss Bala has a lot of cartel action in it

Miss Bala is a movie about a woman named Gloria who tries to find her friend after the friend is kidnapped by the cartel. She goes to the police for help, but is handed over to the cartel instead and is forced to comply and perform dirty work to avoid detection from the DEA.

10. Traffic

Traffic is a movie about the American war on drugs through the lens of different people and includes a Mexican police officer that attempts to take on the cartel in his community. It also tells the story of a Supreme Court judge in Ohio who’s daughter is a heroin addict, two DA agents pursuing the wife of a drug baron, and how their lives are all affected by the illegal drug trade.
