Dwayne Johnson says that Black Adam will absolutely fight Superman in the DCEU

Dwayne Johnson has promised fans that Black Adam will “absolutely” fight Superman in an upcoming DCEU film.

Speaking to Cinema Blend, The Rock believed that Black Adam would mark a new era for the DC cinematic universe, which has been facing difficulties in recent years.

When asked if Superman and Black Adam would face-off, Johnson said: “Absolutely. That is the whole point of this. There’s a new era in the DC universe that’s about to begin.”

Johnson also explained that DC is now listening to its fans and will be striving to meet expectations. However, he warned that “sometime down the road” it may not be able to.

“So finally, after many months turned into years, we ended up with what we ended up at. And the whole goal and intention now is to this new era, new time. Now let’s build out.”

Johnson has been vocal about the DCEU and its future, commenting back in August that he’s “optimistic” the DCEU will have a crossover with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, many have been anything but optimistic at the state of the DCEU.

Back in July, DC Comics chief creative officer Jim Lee said that Zack Snyder’s time leading is likely coming to an end and that the “Snyderverse” (Justice League, Batman v. Superman, and Man of Steel) is over, as “there’s no plans for additional work on that material.”

The DCEU began with Man of Steel and has gone on to include the original Suicide Squad, Justice League, Wonder Woman, and many other films.
