Prominent Battlefield and Call of Duty leaker, Tom Henderson, Tweeted earlier that EA is disappointed with the performance of Battlefield 2042 and is now looking at several options, one of which is looking to work with a free-to-play model in some capacity.

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Battlefield 2042 received the title of becoming one of the worst rated games on Steam. The game’s broken state left many in a disheartened mood. Issues with performance were also around in the beta and seemed to persist in the game’s beginning phase. It lost a decent amount of its players relatively fast.
