Although Hogwarts Legacy still doesn’t release for another month, it’s already the top-selling game on Steam.
To note, the Steam global top-sellers list is based on revenue and not unit sales. Still, Hogwarts Legacy is currently sitting at number 5 on the list. The only titles beating Hogwarts Legacy are free-to-play titles like CS:GO, Dota 2, and Apex Legends. Valve’s Steam Deck is sitting at No.2.
What this means is that Hogwarts Legacy has made it to the top of the best-selling premium games on Steam, exceeding Modern Warfare 2 at No.8 and FIFA 23 at No.10.
Last week, Hogwarts Legacy was Steam’s eighth biggest revenue generator globally, sitting behind the Steam Deck, CS:GO, Dota 2, Apex Legends, Modern Warfare 2, Elden Ring, and FIFA 23.
Hogwarts Legacy is being developed by Avalanche Software and will be published by Warner Bros. Games. It is being described as an open-world RPG that takes players to new and familiar locations beyond Hogwarts. Players will “live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world.”
Hogwarts Legacy was set to release back in 2021 but was delayed twice, once into 2022 and then into 2023.
Hogwarts Legacy will release on February 10, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The PS4 and Xbox One versions release on April 4 and the Nintendo Switch version release on July 25.
