Jerry Bruckheimer, producer for the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, says he'd love to see Johnny Depp return to the franchise

It looks like Jerry Bruckheimer wants to work with Johnny Depp again. Jerry Bruckheimer produced the famous Disney ‘Pirates of the Carribbean‘ film series. Johnny Depp had been the lead role for the franchise’s duration.

Amid legal issues with Amber Heard, Depp lost many of his former movie roles. However, it looks like he’s coming back to the scene slowly.

The producer was asked by The Hollywood Reporter if Johnny Depp was “somebody a studio like Disney would put front and center again in a Pirates sequel?”

Bruckheimer responded, saying, “You’d have to ask them. I can’t answer that question. I really don’t know. I would love to have him in the movie. He’s a friend, a terrific actor and it’s unfortunate that personal lives creep into everything we do.”

Back in June, a jury found both Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard liable for defamation in their lawsuits against each other. However, Depp received more in damages. He had originally sued Heard for defamation over a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post. Heard had described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Johnny Depp had not been personally named in the article, but he claimed that it cost him roles, including an appearance in a sixth “Pirates” movie.
