Overwatch 2 has been plagued by issues since launch, and now another hero is being removed from the roster. Blizzard Entertainment tweeted on Monday that Mei is being removed for about two weeks over a bug with her Ice Wall ability.
“We are temporarily disabling Mei to address a bug with her Ice Wall ability that allows heroes to reach unintended locations. We are working to address these issues as quickly as possible and aim to bring Mei back in our net upcoming patch which is set for November 15,” Blizzard tweeted.
The bug would allow Mei to go outside of map boundaries and created issues where Mei would be able to attack other players without being seen.
Mei is not the first Overwatch 2 hero to be removed from the roster. Bastion and Torbjorn were also removed after unintentionally locking players out of nearly one-third of the roster, alongside other bugs. The two were removed on October 10 but were added back last week.
Overwatch 2 has been facing a slew of major problems. On launch day, the game was hit by a DDoS attack. Additionally, other bugs have caused the game to be unplayable or purchase in-game cosmetics by registering keystrokes when they shouldn’t have been.
