Netflix has released an all-new trailer for their newest musical film Matilda, which you can watch down below:
The musical is a remake of the original story by Roald Dahl, which has seen two films released overtime, one in the 1970’s and one in the 1990’s. It tells the story of a child named Matilda who grows up in a neglectful household and soon learns she has the power to control things with her mind.
The musical is coming out over Christmas, specifically December 9, and will be titled Matilda the Musical, Alisha Weir will be playing Matilda in the film while Emma Thompson will take on the role of Miss Trunchbull. Lashana Lynch will be playing the role of Miss Honey.
The film debuted at the BFI event in London this week, and as a result Netflix has released the new trailer to tease the project further. It will be premiering in exclusive showings at select cinemas before its global debut on Netflix’s streaming platform on December 25.
