PlayStation Stars was announced earlier this year as a new rewards program for PlayStation players. However, it looks like there may be a fifth, hidden, invite-only tier allegedly called Diamond, according to datamined info.
Images showcasing the Diamond tier rewards have been found as well, which are hosted on the PlayStation website and contain a description of the tier:
“In an endless sea of stars, it seems like there’s nowhere to hide. But you wouldn’t be here if you let challenges like that stop you. Welcome to Level 5.”
It looks like since both images are hosted on the official PlayStation website, they must be real. However, whether or not they will be used is still remained to be seen.
PlayStation Stars will release late October and will give PlayStation players a chance to earn rewards by completing campaigns and activities.
Currently, the program has a four-tier level system. All players start at Level 1 and they can work their way towards Level 4 by buying games and earning trophies.
The PlayStation Stars program has come under controversy after appearing to offer priority customer support for high-tier users. Level 4 players will have a chance to skip ahead of the line when contacting customer support with issues.
Users argued that customer support should be fair for all and not something that should be paid for.
The fifth tier is still currently unannounced, but it may be coming in the near future.
