Cyberpunk 2077’s PC version benefits from what many PC games benefit from: Mods. Created by members of the community, mods allow for enhancements or chaotic additions to the game. Cyberpunk 2077 has had many mods, including ones that even give you a flying car. Now, CD Projekt Red is releasing an official modding tool called REDmod.
REDmod will allow Cyberpunk 2077 players to officially create and install their own mods to the PC version of the game. It will include custom sounds, animations, scripts, and more. REDmod will allow players to easily create custom content and it will be updated regularly to stay compatible.
The official website states that “You can use REDmod modding tools separately (in the commandline) or integrated into the WolvenKit mod editor (recommended for best experience and ease of use).”
CD Projekt Red did confirm that mods created outside of REDmod will still work without any problem. Nexus Mods added an official page to its website to explain how it and REDmod will work for Cyberpunk 2077 side-by-side.
