Back in March, it was rumored that Microsoft was planning on including a family plan for their Game Pass subscription and that it would be coming later this year. Now, it looks like that plan is official.
The Verge was able to spot a tweet that a Microsoft Store leaker named Aggiornamenti Lumia put out. The tweet showcased an image that shows the “Friends and Family” branding for the Game Pass tier. Microsoft is currently testing the Game Pass Ultimate family plan, allowing subscribers to share their subscription with up to four other people, granted they’re in the same country.
The family plan would be something strong for Microsoft to implement. It would give more incentive for people to subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate. Additionally, the leak appears to show that Microsoft isn’t restricting account sharing with immediate family members. Currently, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers with the “Friends and Family” tier will pay about 21.99 euros a month instead of the standard 11.99 euros a month.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate currently runs for about $14.99 a month, which unlocks online multiplayer capabilities, Game Pass for both PC and console, access to EA Play, and other perks. You can read our full review on Game Pass here.
