I’m a picky person when it comes to headphones and general audio devices that I use. As someone that values the power of noise-canceling (I have to focus on my work somehow), I stumbled upon the Logitech G733 and it has since become my main go-to pair of headphones that I use all the time.
Not only is it amazing for video games, but it’s helped me through all those Zoom calls, through classes, and just general leisure. It has many pluses compared to other headphones and gaming headsets out there, which makes it absolutely fantastic to use.
The Facts
The Logitech G733 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset is both a great pair of headphones and an aesthetically pleasing piece of technology. It comes in four amazing colors that can fit any gamer’s setup. I personally opted to get the black one as it fit my desk the most, but the others look great as well. Also, black is a neutral color, which does help to fit pretty much anything.
The Wireless connection is reliable and it comes with a USB connector that you can plug into your PC, Mac, or PlayStation. Please note that this is not a Bluetooth headset. It’s just wireless, and you need the USB receiver.
Logitech boasts that the G733 can give over 29 hours of battery life. I can personally attest that they do last a very long time. I’m not sure about the precise 29 hours, but it lasts a very long time.
I’ve sat through hours worth of online classes, listened to music, and played video games and haven’t had the need to charge often at all. They do work while charging, which is convenient if you need them in a particular moment.
The Audio
The G733 also comes with a detachable mic that’s actually got great quality to it. I’ve used it in meetings before and I never got any complaints about the mic sounding fuzzy or off.
It uses Blue VO!CE software (made by the same company that makes the famous Yeti and Snowball microphones), which allows for the sound to be very good without much adjustment.
Oh, just a side note: Logitech does own Blue. So, if you already use something like a Yeti mic, you can already guess the quality level of the mic in the G733. It’s not the same standard, of course, but for a headset it’s very good.
You can customize the filters on the mic and the way everything sounds when you speak using the Logitech G HUB software. I didn’t mess around with this point too much, but if it’s something that you care to look into, you certainly can.
The Logitech G733 Headset is also extremely lightweight and does not feel heavy on the head at all. Some headphones unfortunately fall into a very discomforting territory, but this headset was an excellent feel and it didn’t bother me using it for long periods of time at all.
Is the Logitech G733 Worth the Money?
The G733 has some pretty neat features that work just fine right out of the box. At first, I was a bit scared that the G733 would be too flimsy or would break fast due to its lightweight and flexible nature, but those two pieces turned out to be one of the best parts about the headset.
It contours well around your head, doesn’t feel too tight, and is really comfortable. Plus, they actually do have a very strong level of noise cancellation in them. I can’t count the amount of times someone has tried to talk to me and I couldn’t hear a single word they were saying with these on. For someone that needs optimum focus, the G733 is perfect for just that.
The lighting is also brilliant and has earned me lots of compliments. You can customize the colors the way you desire and can adjust them in the G HUB depending on what your preferences are. Similar to the G502 Hero Mouse, you can configure the lighting to respond to audio.
The wireless range goes up to 20 meters, which is excellent because you can go long distances away from your desk (perhaps to grab a snack) without your audio cutting out. I’ve done this plenty of times when I needed to get something from another location in my house, but didn’t want to stop listening to my class or the video I was watching.
Conclusions
I honestly haven’t had any negative experiences with this headset, and I’m typically very critical of the things I purchase because I want to make sure that the products I use are the best I can find. However, the G733 is a headset that truly does allow for a unique and immersive experience. The surround sound is one of my favorite parts, and you can configure how it works in the G HUB as well, making it that much more unique to your preferences.
