Top Gun: Maverick has done wonders for Tom Cruise, and he is now expected to earn $100 million for his role in the film, according to a report from Variety.
Top Gun: Maverick, which is already Tom Cruise’s biggest film ever, has grossed over $1 billion globally. The film continues to see major success domestically and globally, with the film having extremely high ratings across the internet.
The total figure accounts for his upfront salary, his portion of the box office, and his earnings from future home-entertainment sales.
A previous Variety report revealed that Cruise took a smaller upfront payment of $13 million in exchange for a backend deal where he would get a cut of the film’s ticket sales. Top Gun: Maverick is now the highest-grossing movie of 2022 thus far.
His payday is set to be one of the biggest for a single movie ever.
Cruise is also planning on a similar deal for the next two “Mission: Impossible” films.
