Ubisoft has revealed the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming title, Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland.
The Division Heartland is set to be a standalone, free-to-play entry to The Division series. The official website describes it as a survival-action multiplayer shooter “set in small-town America within the Division universe.” No official release date has been given just yet, but it’s possible that we may be seeing it launch in 2022-2023 on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and cloud.
Ubisoft’s studio, Red Storm, which has previously worked on the other The Division titles is undertaking development for The Division Heartland. Ubisoft confirmed that a “veteran team who has worked on the franchise since the first The Division game” is in charge of Heartland.
We finally got a first-look at some gameplay we can expect in The Division Heartland, as well as its setting. The town is called Silver Creek and it has been “left in ruins following the spread of the Dollar Flu. Players will take on the role of loyal Division agents from across the nation responding to a call for help.
“Fighting alongside and against other trained agents, players will explore the secrets of Silver Creek and provide hope to what remains of small-town America.”
Ubisoft is also encouraging players to sign up for future playtests, but no official word has been given on when we can expect those playtests.
The Division Heartland gameplay was revealed during Ubisoft Forward 2022, where we also got a chance to hear more information about the future of Assassin’s Creed, as well as the official announcement trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
