The Crown, the hit Netflix series surrounding the British royal family, has announced that it “will stop filming out of respect” after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Writer Peter Morgan, 59, made the announcement stating that “The Crown is a love letter to her and I’ve nothing to add for now, just silence and respect. I expect we will stop filing out of respect too.”

Season 6 of The Crown is currently in production, with Imelda Staunton set to star as Queen Elizabeth II in Season 5, which is coming up for release. Jonathan Pryce will portray Prince Philip, Dominic West will star as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki stars at Princess Diana. Olivia Williams has been cast as Camilla Parker Bowles and Jonny Lee Miller will appear as Prime Minister John Major.

Season 6 will focus on the 1990s, up to Diana’s death in 1997.

Queen Elizabeth was born back in 1926 and was the longest reigning monarch before she passed at 96. She was also the longest-reining British monarch in history.

The Crown tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and the events that occurred during it.
