Last year the widely anticipated CES 2021 conference was put on hold due to worldwide lockdowns. However, a year later, it’s back and stronger than ever, with this year having some of the coolest tech we’ve seen yet. Bringing some action to the game is Sony with their new lineup of tv’s, consumer goods, and shockingly enough, an electric car. That’s right, Sony is starting an automobile company.

CEO Kenichiro Yoshida announced at the US tech event that they would be starting Sony Mobility Inc, an automobile sector of the company. A prototype vehicle was also publicly unveiled, showcasing all of the car’s unique features in person. Things like 5g internet and multiple screens all over the car. It has been said that the car will also have some sort of Playstation-connection.

All this, in an attempt to transform mobility into a form of entertainment, and it seems to be working. Sony’s stock shares rose over 4.2% after the announcement, showing a rather positive reception.
