Garfield

Anyone excitedly waiting on Chris Pratt’s Garfield movie is going to be disappointed when they hear that the film’s release has been delayed by a good few months.

Earlier this week Sony Pictures announced that the animated Garfield film will be debuting at theaters on May 24, 2024 versus February 16 of that same year, which now means that we’ll have to wait a much longer period of time now to see Chris Pratt voice the Monday-hating cat.

The film will also, believe it or not, star Samuel L. Jackson who will play Garfield’s father, which basically makes this a Marvel film by this point. The film will also be starring Nicholas Hoult, Ving Rhames, Hannah Waddingham, and Cecily Strong, although their roles are unknown as of now.

The director behind The Emperor’s New Groove and Chicken Little, Mark Dindal, will also be behind this movie while its script will be written by David Reynolds, who wrote Finding Nemo, Mulan, and many other famous animated films.

This film will be the most recent addition in the Garfield cinematic universe, with the both of the 20th Century Fox live-action films coming out in the early 2000’s, with Bill Murray voicing Garfield in the two. Sony also announced multiple other new films on Friday alongside Garfield, including three new Marvel films, including Madame Web, which The DZSH Group reported on back in June.
