Assassin’s Creed leaker j0nathan has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will only feature the city of Baghdad. The city will be split into four individual districts, each with its own boss. It seems like it’s a return to the more original style of the Assassin’s Creed series.
The title will also feature the return of throwing knives, hiding spots on rooftops, and dense crowds like in Assassin’s Creed Unity.
Assassin’s Creed Unity was well-known for its dense crowds, taking place in the French Revolution and featuring impressively vibrant areas of Paris. This did create some performance issues in the game that made Unity more prone to bugs. However, years later, it is a praised feature for the 2014 title.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was codenamed Assassin’s Creed Rift and was first reported on by Bloomberg, who wrote that the next Assassin’s Creed would go “back to basics,” with a more stealth-focused title that will strip away some of the more RPG-heavy elements of the latest games.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will star Basim, who was originally introduced to players back in 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The title was originally set to be an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Development on Assassin’s Creed Mirage is being led by Ubisoft Bordeaux.
