Meta has announced that it has acquired three game development studios: Camouflag, Armature Studio and Twisted Pixel.

Camouflaj is based in Seattle and was founded by former Metal Gear Solid producer and Halo creative director Ryan Payton. The studio previously worked on Republique and Iron Man VR.

Iron Man VR was released on PlayStation VR back in July 2020. It will now be available for the Quest 2 on November 3, 2022.

Armature is based in Texas and was founded by several members of the Metroid Prime series. It worked on Resident Evil 4 VR, Where the Heart Leads and Ark: Genesis Part 1. Additionally, it has worked on Metal Gear Solid, Batman: Arkham, Injustice, Borderlands and Fortnite.

Twisted Metal is also based in Texas and worked on games like The Maw, ‘Splosion Man, Wilson’s Heart and Path of the Warrior.

Meta said that “it’ll be a while before we can reveal what [the studios are] working on, but we’re excited to continue working with and supporting these developers as they bring ambitious and forward-thinking games to VR.”
