Popular medieval slasher game, Mordhau, is coming soon to both last and next-gen consoles. Originally releasing on the PC back in 2019, the developers at Triternion have announced that it will soon release on the Xbox Series X/S, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PlayStation 5. The title garnered a successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2017, prior to its PC release.

Not much is known about the console versions just yet, including if there is cross-platform support. The game’s structure allows for 64 players to hack ‘n’ slash it out in a medieval battle. It’s been very popular on Steam, with 84,000 “very positive” reviews and 496 “mostly positive” reviews. It’s had an all-time peak on Steam of around 60,000 daily players.

The official description of Mordhau is: “Mordhau is a medieval first & third person multiplayer slasher. Enter a hectic battlefield of up to 80 players as a mercenary in a fictional, but realistic world, where you will get to experience the brutal and satisfying melee combat that will have you always coming back for more.”

The game has sold almost 500,000 copies and includes a variety of gamemodes in the PC version. Frontline supports up to 48 players split into two teams that battle for points by dueling each other. Invasion has two teams of 48 players either attacking or defending objectives. There’s also a Battle Royale mod where 64 players go head-to-head in a free-for-all.
