The more the Marvel universe grows and expands, the more the idea of the multiverse, something strongly pioneered by their hit series Loki, becomes relevant.

It’s also now the very first Marvel tv show to get a season 2, which was made clear from the start due to season one’s abnormal ending. As the new episodes begin to go into development, new reports are coming out as to what’s in store for excited viewers.

As confirmed by Variety, Loki season 2 will be seeing Rafael Casal, behind the hit 2018 film Blindspotting, as one of the main leads.

Casal also appeared in Good Lord Bird and Bad Education, and is currently the creator and director behind a Showtime tv series based off of his 2018 success.

As things stand it’s unknown what role Casal will be playing in the tv show. Disney has remained very secretive about the development of their new series. However, as things stand, many fans speculate that he might play Marvel’s Zaniac character, a swarm of demonic creatures from another dimension.

The rest of this year will see the release of new MCU limited series, however, so chances are Loki will not be seeing its second season for a while. Fans will be able to catch She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in August, a series of nine episodes that will run into October.

Following that Marvel will be releasing their very first MCU Christmas Special, a new Guardians of the Galaxy film.

You can currently watch season one of Loki on Disney’s streaming platform Disney+.
