The Overwatch Lego set was supposed to release in February. Now, it’s being reconsidered.
If you’ve been following the news regarding Activison, you may be aware about the allegations being brought up against the video game giant. Activision, which is responsible for publishing popular video game franchises like Call of Duty, Overwatch, Diablo, and League of Legends, is now under fire.
Activision CEO was sued for issues like sexual harassment and creating a toxic working environment, especially for women. Now, Lego is evaluating its relationship with the company and has indefinitely delayed the Overwatch 2 Lego set. Lego is now another company joining in on questioning its relationship and collaboration with Activision.
Recently, Activision also came under fire by its own employees at Raven Software for laying off a dozen QA workers.
Lego said in a statement:
We are currently reviewing our partnership with Activision Blizzard, given concerns about the progress being made to address continuing allegations regarding workplace culture, especially the treatment of female colleagues and creating a diverse and inclusive environment. While we complete the review, we will pause the release of a LEGO Overwatch 2 product which was due to go on sale on February 1, 2022.
It’s not clear whether they will end up releasing it at some point in the future.
