Electronic Arts (EA) recently held an earnings call for the quarter and EA has stated that Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is performing strongly for its release time.
According to EA, Jedi Survivor has exceeded expectations and is performing “very strongly.” EA also compared the sequel to its predecessor, Fallen Order, stating that it is performing even better. The player count for Jedi Survivor is currently in the millions.
Although Jedi Survivor was delayed, EA CEO Andrew Wilson stated that EA is “overjoyed” that the title was indeed delayed, adding that: “We made the bold decision to move the title six weeks to give the team the opportunity to really get to the quality of the game that they wanted.”
“It’s very early, I think we’re 11 days in at this point, we’re in a different kind of market dynamic, but I would tell you it’s pacing very strongly against our expectations and against Jedi: Fallen Order,” Wilson said.
Fallen Order itself was a major success, with 10 million total players before it finished off its first year of launch. That total would go up to 20 million players in the first 1.5 years.
Jedi Survivor has been praised for improving upon Fallen Order’s mechanics and gameplay. However, it has been hit hard by performance issues on both PC and console, especially in the main hub world of Koboh. This is true despite the recent patches and fixes.
Despite the bugs and glitches, Jedi Survivor has been an overall excellent game, especially when compared to other releases for 2023 like Redfall.
