Although eager Marvel fans were able to catch the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer at this year’s comic-con, others aren’t so lucky.
The movie finished filming back in May and will premier at theaters across the US on May 5th of next year. The trailer showed at the event opened with “Do You Realized” by The Flaming Lip sand teased footage of the origins of Baby Rocket Raccoon, before being followed by an exclusive look at Ravager Gamora and Adam Warlock. Warlock is a new character to the franchise who was teased back in 2017’s Vol. 2.
We’ll have to wait a while before we’re able to catch the films new trailer that showed at the convention this year however, and that’s for one big reason.

Gunn responded to disappointed fans on Twitter stating: “But it’s not just Marvel, it’s also me. Although I love the teaser some VFX aren’t where I’d want them to be for repeated views & close inspection — remember we didn’t wrap long ago — so you’ll have to wait just a beat! Sorry!”
Other Big Marvel Announcements
Alongside the big Guardians of the Galaxy announcement Marvel also debuted the official trailers for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, who’s trailers did in fact go online. Secret announcements for the new Ant-Man film and Disney+’s new show, Secret Invasion, were made but kept in Hall H unfortunatley.
The third and final part of the Guardians of the Galaxy series will bring together the old team yet again, including Star-Lord (played by Chris Pratt), Drax (Dave Bautista), Nebula (Karen Gillan) and many other beloved characters of the franchise as they lead a search for Gamora, who was killed in Avengers: Infinity War but would time travel in Endgame.
“I think it’s really been about telling one story between the three films with a couple of sideways adventures,” Gunn stated during a panel at Hall H. “But I think it really is about the one story. This is the final arc that we began at the very beginning of Guardians of the Galaxy, with Peter Quill, with Rocket, seeing where Nebula goes, and even Kraglin, who started out as saying one or two lines in the first movie and is now a main Guardian of the Galaxy.”
“We were legitimately choked up backstage, watching this footage, because we f***ing care. We care.”
